They occupied the houses in Naples – bbc Radio

Squats are not uncommon. Most of the big cities are with such a sometimes, to young homeless people move into empty buildings until the police drive them away.

The unusual with the Naples today is that the city authorities encourage the occupiers. That is not always so young.

Around these houses and buildings, there has emerged a grassroots movement of the unemployed, artists and academics who demands that society shall be managed and controlled from below. And to the common rooms shall be free to reside and work in.
