Culture Eva-Marie Liffner recalls, with his new novel, Blown! if the stretch resistance. Ingrid Bosseldal have read and been fascinated.

2012 Eva-Marie Liffner the GP prize for literature "for a storytelling with ingenious fiction and historical empathy captures the man’s enigmatic transformations". Had the reasoning does not already been for – mulerad, could I use it to tell us about her new novel, Blown! Now I have to instead re-use it.
Nothing strange with it. The kind of literary recycling, and movements in time and space, hear Liffners authorship. Similarly, the movements between killing and living; gravöppningar, återupplivningar, versifications.

Her new novel, Blown! will not make the faithful readers disappointed. On the contrary. On the other hand, possibly, a little disoriented. Right it is not easy always to follow Liffners complex intrigue. This time, even more than in the past, also raises the urge to decipher. Who is who? What is the what? So it is also, in addition to excerpts from the bible, folk tales, folk songs, and ancient myths, some of the 1800 – and 1900-century’s great writers who are brought together in the plot: the sisters Brontë, JRR Tolkien, and the torsdagsklubb not contained only Tolkien but also, among others, C S Lewis. The references are many and at times steep.

get characters straight out of the fiction and takes place in the plot, sometimes apostroferas by, for example, to give names to streets or properties. This is, for example, – with a not-so-small nod to Emily Brontës classic foundling Heathcliff – Heath Street and Cliff Mansion. Here are, with as clear winks to Tolkien’s tale, "lady Elf" in his "Gondolfska house" rent out a floor to the "Johnnie T". In one scene, the encounter also, the novel’s narrator, the mechanic Down the Shaw, on the two strange monsters. One of them is called Strength. And even the title is a literary play. "Playin’!" is the name given to the first Swedish translation of Wuthering heights (Dizzying heights).

the Novel is divided into two parts. In the first glow, bolts and sorgesjunger it, while JRR Tolkien’s ("Johnnie Ts") good friend, the mechanic Down the Shaw, ” says and, in fact, moves between his own early 1900s, and the brothers and sisters Brontës 1800s. Initially, he is a carefree young man, full of mechanical wonders and roman history. After a few years in the belgian mud during the first world war change, he becomes a significantly more complex and to apathy character. Maybe he loses also his friend Johnnie T to the war. Or not.

novel’s part becomes the design more clearly. Here korsklipper Liffner between 2000-speeches, 1960-speech and the Brontës later 1800s. Of the children, there is only Charlotte left. And in our present deciphers the middle-aged friends Mags and George archaeological field reports and mysterious loose-leaf at the same time as Charlotte Brontë looking for a lost (stolen) scripts.
Who lives and who dies are not all obvious. Instead reminds Liffner if the resistance is in the imagination. And the eternal life.
