Sixth time lucky for DiCaprio? – Swedish daily newspaper

“I am as grateful to the Academy recognizes this film,” says DiCaprio in a statement.

He has been nominated five times in the past – including his starring role “The Wolf of Wall Street” for two years ago – but never won. He was only 20 years old when he received his first nomination, then for his supporting role in “Gilbert Grape”. For SkyNews he says that it still feels exciting to be nominated.

The director Alejandro González Iñárritus “The revevenant” leads the nomination race for this year’s gala and has a chance on price across twelve categories, particularly in the heavy categories Best Film and Best Director.

– It feels fantastic with so many nominations for a film that I have spent a year and that he (Iñárritu) has spent three years of his life, says DiCaprio BBC .

This year’s Oscars will take place on 28 February.
