Tote-star died during Saturday night – Göteborgs-Posten

Saturday night died Mike Porcaro, bassist of the popular rock band Toto. This was written by his brother on Facebook.

Mike Porcaro, bassist Toto, has died. His brother and band colleague Steve Porcaro tells of the death on his Facebook page.

“Our brother Mike died peacefully in his sleep around 0:04 yesterday at home, surrounded by family. Rest in peace, my brother “, he writes.

Even the band’s guitarist Steven Lukather commented his friend’s death on Facebook:

” My brother Mice Porcaro now rests in peace. I will miss him more than I can ever describe in words. My deepest love for his family. “

Porcaro left Toto in 2007, after he started to get sore fingers and therefore could not play on the same as before. Three years later he was diagnosed with the disease ALS.

He was 59 years old.

ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis , is a nerve disorder that leads to nerve cells controls the body’s muscles gradually atrophy. The most common direct cause of death associated with the disease is loss of breathability.

The American group Toto was formed in Los Angeles in 1977. To their biggest hits include Hold The Line and Africa . In their music blended elements from pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R & amp; B and jazz.
