Guldregn across Birdman at the Oscars – Orebro Tribune

Last night was decided the 87th edition of the Oscars in Los Angeles, an industry party primarily directed to the film industry in the United States, but where even foreign film may be having to compete.

The night’s big winner was Alejandro G. Iñárritus movie Birdman who took home four statuettes and won some of the heaviest categories for Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Director and the gala’s biggest prize, best film.

Birdman was with Wes Anderson’s movie The Grand Budapest Hotel nominees for the whole nine Oscars, but the film had to content with just four.

The Grand Budapest Hotel did not home any of the major categories but was rewarded with statuettes more for its style, best costume, best production design, best husband -up and best music.

In the acting department Eddie Redmayne won the prize for Best Actor, he portrayed Stephen Hawking in the movie The Theory of Everything . Julianne Moore won the award for Best Actress for the film Still Alice in which she plays a linguistics professor who becomes ill and begins to forget words. Patricia Arquette and J.K. Simmons won the award for best supporting roles.

The gala also had some films that were nominated in several categories, but won only an Oscar was. The Imitation Game won for best screenplay for another model and was nominated for eight Oscars whole. American Sniper won for Best Sound and was nominated in six categories.

Now that the 2014 films have been rewarded at the Oscars, only to look forward to an interesting film year where several exciting titles will premiere.
